What's your bone density?

The Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation will offer free bone density screenings at the Modern Bliss Magazine booth, throughout the show, both days.

According to the WWHF Web site, "Osteoporosis is the most common bone disease and is a major public health problem. More than 1.3 million fractures are attributed to (caused by) osteoporosis in the US each year. One out of every three women and one in eight men over 50 will have an osteoporosis-related fracture in her or his lifetime. Approximately 10 million Americans have osteoporosis, with 34 million more having low bone mass, placing them at increased risk for developing osteoporosis. Sometimes referred to as “thinning of the bones,” osteoporosis means that the person has deceased bone mass (amount of bone), which makes bones more fragile and more likely to break, or fracture."

Commonly known as a "woman's disease," 80% of those with osteoporosis are women. A bone density screening can help prevent this (and the best part- it's FREE)!

Bethenny Frankel delivers ten approachable real-life rules to being “naturally thin” in her book NATURALLY THIN: Unleash Your Skinnygirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting (published in March 2009). As Bethenny says, “If you want it, go get it!”

Both books will be on sale at the WELL Expo for $16 each plus tax, and Bethenny will be available to sign your book on Saturday, January 16 after her appearance on stage at 2 p.m.
To purchase books, visit the Modern Bliss booth at the WELL Expo, or call 262-245-1000, extension 100 to pre-order today with your credit card. Pre-ordered books will be available for pick up at the Modern Bliss booth on Saturday morning.
Throughout the book, Bethenny helps readers get rid of their “heavy habits” and replace them with “thin thoughts,” offering a new way of thinking about food so that anyone can start eating – and living the naturally thin way. Her ten accessible rules are: Your Diet is a Bank Account; You Can Have it All, Just Not All at Once; Taste Everything, Eat Nothing; Pay Attention; Downsize Now!; Cancel Your Membership in the Clean Plate Club; Check Yourself Before you Wreck Yourself; Know Thyself; Get Real; Good for You.
THE SKINNYGIRL DISH: Easy Recipes For Your Naturally Thin Life (published December 2009) is the next step on the Skinnygirl journey. Bethenny walks readers through her kitchen, her cooking philosophy, the way she prepares for special occasions, or for a simple every day snack or meal. Throughout “the dish”, she inspires readers to use what they have, substitute empty calories for healthier ingredients, and create an endless array of simple, delicious, and creative dishes in their own kitchens, rather than limit themselves to someone else’s recipe. This is cooking the Skinnygirl way!
Part one of THE SKINNYGIRL DISH teaches readers how to feel more confident with their cooking, how to stock their kitchen, cook by using what they have, and think like a chef. Bethenny also shares common cooking mistakes and how to avoid them. Part two contains recipes, amusing stories, tips for meals, snacks and drinks, and suggestions for how readers can tailor the recipes to their own needs and desires. Part three features chapters on Skinnygirl-style entertaining for special occasions and holidays. She also includes tips for personalizing recipes contributed by Chef Bobby Flay and stars from Top Chef.
